We are Make, DO Theatre. You can call us Make, DO. We’re a young(ish), tight-knit ensemble of actors, activists, writers, readers, directors, performance-goers, dancers, tea-brewers, facilitators, conversationalists, musicians, party-goers, artists, animal lovers, producers, raconteurs, environmentalists, friends, and nerds. We met during a research project as Drama students at the University of Huddersfield and gained actors from Yorkshire and Manchester. Since then we’ve trained together, written, produced, and toured our first play ‘Little Change’, run workshops including our annual Make, DO: Collaborate programme, performed in front of thousands at the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival, worked with loads of brilliant local artists, and, most recently, written a series of original audio-visual plays. Our mission is to inspire positive social and cultural change. Specifically, we believe in amplifying the voices of those who struggle to be heard. We like to make original, unapologetic, cross-genre art. We work across physical theatre, digital art, poetry, and verbatim/documentary theatre.
